The moment you hear music through a pair of decent speakers opens your ears and experience in a way that can’t be un-done. The detail, delicate instruments, thrumming low notes, all in the way the artist intended their craft to be experienced. It’s been there, all along, waiting for you to discover.
My re-awakening was just like that: I put on a music track I’d heard a hundred times before, and it was like I’d pulled a wool blanket off my head. I’m still listening to those Speeders on my computer desk today.
Welcome to Narrows Audio. My name is Drew and this is my side hustle in Tacoma Washington. While I got my start in the DIY speaker community, my partner and I draw on more than a decade of audio design experience.
Below, I’ve lovingly selected a range of speakers to fit various lifestyles, available space, aesthetic sense, and budget. There are no bad choices here.
At the moment, speakers are made to order and usually take about four to six weeks. Feel free to reach out any time with questions or requests.

Speedsters
The Speedsters were the first pair truly nice speakers I’ve owned for the last 15 years. The moment I finished them and plugged them in: Just Wow. I was hearing things I’d never heard before. They come in at 10in tall, 6in wide, and 9in deep. The odd shaped tweeter is called a ribbon tweeter and has excellent performance. I use them near-field, sitting right in front of my face at a computer desk. They’re a little big for a traditional desktop speaker, but are well worth it. As pictured: varnished walnut front, with black painted sides.

Amiga
I love the size and quality of the Amigas. They are unassuming floor standing speakers that would look at home in a small room with a few potted plants. Certainly many steps above any comparably priced off the shelf speakers, the Amigas will faithfully tease out fidelity in your music that it deserves. Dimensions are 34 x 11 x 8. The front baffle is old high-school bleacher from Earthwise Salvage. The rest is Red Oak veneered. There is currently a pair on active display at the new Blue Beard coffee at 5428 S Tacoma Way.

Tarkus
Every respectable speaker company needs to offer a pair of big room big sound ass kickers, and if you have the power to drive them, the Tarkus will not disappoint. Each side has it’s own 10in paper cone woofer. While the details and airy highs might not be to the scientific accuracy as the above models, they more than make up for in pants shaking house-party ability. They stand approximately 39in tall x 13in wide x 18in deep. I say approximately because I offer these in either a one box, or two box configuration. They are available in lacquered marine plywood, or veneer. As pictured, they’re painted MDF, a burnt orange hue. If you’d like to choose a color, I can make that happen as well. I’ve also fitted this pair with speaker cloth grills; this customer has children. If you have clawed cats, consider metal grills.
